B.  Blog Entry: Discuss Look and Feel issues

Comedy or seriousness:
          Humor

Fonts, graphics, layouts, etc:
          Colors: plain vivid color tones
          Font: Impact Font
Design for poster: Patients waiting in a room and they have posters of a raised arm as though
asking for help behind them on the wall.
Persuasive?: My video will focus on dreading feeling of having to wait and waste time. It will
connect with people's first thoughts of waiting rooms and make them realize why
it would be great to have a quicker system.
          Support Materials:
I was thinking about perhaps using this as a logo or just
incorporating it with the idea of my project somewhere.

I want to use these pictures of raised arms for my poster.

Point of View:
I am making sure that the message gets across that people waiting endless hours by making
the poster simple so that the focus of the judges eye will automatically go to the allusion that
I will create (the pictures of raised arms on the wall behind the patients). Plus, I will use
symbolic pictures. such as the clock i previously posted.

I am intending to create:
              i. a message that will portray the amount of unproductive time being wasted
ii. a very straightforward presentation with some vivid colors placed where needed in order
to make it still portray a hospital environment.
iii. a video that captures the fast pace rush of a hospital staff, then turns back to a very slow
environment. This represents the views of the patients and the staff members of
energy getting spent while getting nothing done. "A lot of energy doing nothing."
iv. a 15 page essay on the issues and affects of patient time wait concerning finances, patient
                   losses, and time management.
              v.  a presentation of the kind of form that will be seen on the ipads

Video Opinion

Personally I love the second video with the man texting because I like the kind of videos that take reality and make it into a comical situation. The thing about this video that really attracted me was how it incorporated qualities about the product above the mans head. It was organized and was easy to follow along with the graphics.

CAPSTONE BLOG

A. Blog Entry: Statement of intent

Goals:
          1. To find a more efficient way to improve patient wait time in the waiting rooms of hospitals
          2. Diverge from any of the distractions that may come with ipads
          3. Allow access to ONLY the fill-out form to patients

Importance:
The importance of my capstone proposal is that it will begin to improve the number of patients
that will be able to be helped in a more efficient and a less time consuming manner by
beginning with the admittance of the patient. The majority of the public should care because
they are the ones that will be waiting for up to 3 hours to get helped while their bills increase
the more time they spend at hospitals.

Goals and Career Objectives:
My goals are relevant to the importance of my project because there are factors that I will need
to consider due to the type of patients that will be waiting in the waiting room. For example,
not everyone owns a computer to access internet from their homes in order to submit all their
information, so I would suggest to a hospital to install ipads. Another example, would be to
find a way to prevent any children from using the ipads as a recreational tool.

Giving Back:
A perfect way to describe how my project gives back to society is by giving the people the
opportunity to go in and out of the doctor's office in order to get back to their busy lives.
Although I may never be able to buy back their time, I can, however, save them the hours of
waiting that seem endless and unproductive.

Richland's Triple Bottom Line:
My capstone project applies to the Richland triple bottom line because it involves finding a problem
within society and providing a solution. This project also includes careful planning, research, and
          executing a game plan.
